Medicare Part A

Medicare Part A is the foundational part of the federal program coverage that covers hospital stays and related costs. It is free of cost for most Americans who’ve paid into it during their working lives. To enroll in Medicare Part A, you can apply online or visit your local Social Security office. If you’re already collecting from Social Security, you’ll be automatically enrolled in Medicare Part A and receive your Medicare card in the mail.

You are eligible to apply for Medicare within a six-month window around your 65th birthday, and then again during the Open Enrollment Period (OE). When enrolling in Medicare for the first time, you’ll be asked if you’d like to enroll in Part B or delay. If you’re not sure what to do, feel free to contact us for a consultation and visit our Part B page for more information on how to know when to pick it up.
Once you’ve enrolled in Part A, we can help you choose any supplemental plans based on your unique needs.
