You become eligible for Part B at 65, just like Part A. When you enroll, there’s an option to delay Part B and pick it up later. If you’re not sure which to choose, contact us for advice.
Once you turn 65 and become eligible for Original Medicare, you can either enroll in both Parts A & B, or just enroll in Part A and delay Part B. This can depend on a variety of factors. See our graphic below that can help explain when it’s most beneficial to enroll in Part B.
If you decide to enroll in Part B, you will pay a monthly premium based on your income to cover doctor’s visits, preventative care, and outpatient treatments.
Both Parts A & B of Medicare are part of Original Medicare and must be picked up by enrolling online at www.ssa.gov/medicare or by calling 1-800-772-1213.
