While Original Medicare provides solid coverage for hospital affiliated costs and procedures, there are several supplemental plans available to help cover out-of-pocket costs associated with Medicare.
Also referred to as Medigap, these programs are offered from private marketplace insurance companies and can offer assistance with deductibles, copays, and more.
Medigap plans are supplemental to Original Medicare (Parts A & B), they do not work with Medicare Advantage Plans. These plans fill the “gaps” in Original Medicare rather than taking on a more comprehensive Medicare Advantage plan that has more coverage than you need.
